We wanted to introduce you to some of our very talented makers and creative people. We are kicking off this series with Andy Smith Photography, whose beautiful images decorate walls in many local homes - including ours! Andy says:
Hi, I’m Andy Smith, a Folkestone based photographer and trainer. I have spent the last 10 years working with new photographers, firstly at Folkestone Camera Club and now Hythe Camera Club. I help them to increase their knowledge and enjoyment of their hobby. This has given me a huge library of local images, and I've made a lot of friends.
I like to keep everything as simple as possible. I feel if people learn to do the basic things well, it gives them the perfect base to develop from, knowing that they always have a back up if things don’t go quite to plan. The less you do, the less things there are that can go wrong. If you understand the three basics of "Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO", then all you have to do is find a picture and focus.
Keep everything simple and with all the time you can save, you can take your time in looking around you, spotting a picture, and enjoying the surroundings.
